If you’re looking for a spicy appetizer to make for a party these jalapeño poppers are exactly what you need and they pair nicely with our Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks. Using your air fryer (if you don’t have one you totally need to get one) you can make them in 20 minutes with a few simple ingredients like cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onion, and bacon. If you’re a fan of these but want to try it in dip form you’ve gotta try our Slow Cooker Jalapeño Popper Dip.

What’s The Best Way To Cut A Jalapeño?
You’ll want to wear gloves when cutting jalapeños as they contain capsaicin, which is the oil in peppers that makes them hot. Otherwise, it can make your hands and anything you touch burn for couple hours.
If you do happen to get some of the oil on your hands wash your hands immediately with a grease-cutting soap. Also, some say that alcohol or dairy (fat like milk or yogurt) can help minimize burning. To prepare the peppers, cut them in half and scrape all seeds from the inside. Removing the vein in the pepper can also lower the heat level if you wish.
What’s In The Filling?
This simple and delicious filling is made with just a few ingredients – cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and green onion.
If you don’t have cheddar cheese you can use Colby jack or mozzarella cheese, but cheddar cheese adds more flavor. You can also add a little salt. However, I recommend tasting the filling before adding it since cheddar cheese and cream cheese add some salt.
How To Wrap The Jalapeño With Bacon
Once you stuff the peppers, you’ll need to par cook the bacon. The easiest way to do this is in the microwave as it only takes a couple minutes. Place the bacon on a plate with paper towel. Then cook it for 30 seconds and check to see if some fat is released. You can do this another 30 seconds if needed but make sure the bacon is still rubbery and easily pliable. The bacon will get crisper in air fryer this way.
Cooking Jalapeño Poppers In The Air Fryer
Place stuffed jalapeño poppers in air fryer side by side but don’t overcrowd them. Leave a little space between each one. Set the temperature to 400°F, then cook for 10 minutes. If the bacon is not crispy yet, add another 2 minutes.
