Summer is coming! Don’t you just love it? All the burgers and potato salad, my besties and beer, sun tanning, bikinis and flip flops. I could just about live in summer forever. Oh wait. I kinda do. I live in Florida. But my memories of summer, and the contrast with winter, come from spending most of my life in Canada. So I get it. Summer is the best and it’s time to celebrate it.
One of the things I love most about summer is that there’s a whole lot of basil going on. My favorite herb starts growing in gardens and in big pots and everyone gets into it adding it to their salads and cocktails and just about everywhere. That’s why we decided to do a whole big series on basil.
We’re going to give you tips on growing and using basil, plus classic recipes like pesto and Caprese salad. And of course, some more unique uses as well.
So, grab your mozzarella and tomatoes, olive oil and sea salt, strawberries and raspberries (you’ll see) and let’s get started on everything basil!
