Instructions

  1. Cut avocado lengthwise until your knife reaches the pit, then turn avocado around to cut around to the other side.
  2. Hold the two halves of the avocado and twist to separate them and pull them apart.
  3. Run a knife or spoon around the pit and then wedge your spoon under it to pop it out.
  4. Cut each avocado half in half again ( so that you have 4 quarters). Pry the skin away from the avocado flesh at a pointy end, and then gently pull it away from the avocado wedge all the way down.
  5. Now the ripe avocado flesh can be sliced, diced, or mashed for your recipe.
