Lemon adds a lot of bright, fresh flavor to dishes without needing a lot of effort from the cook. That’s why we decided to focus on its wonderful use in side dishes! Enjoy!

Lately, I’ve been talking a lot about my concept of The Side Dish Solution. You know how deciding what to make for dinner can be so difficult? I think it’s all about the decision making process. The idea behind The Side Dish Solution is that you start by choosing one amazing side dish. Then, everything else can be really basic and it will all be delicious. For instance, you can make an Asian-inspired cucumber salad with lemon and sesame seeds. Then make some simple stir-fried shrimp and white rice to go with it, and you’re done!
When we decided to collaborate with Kathy Strahs for a series here on TheCookful, Side Dishes with Lemon was a natural idea. Why? Because she’s the award-winning author of The Lemonade Stand Cookbook, and is therefore quite the lemon expert. (By the way, she’s also the author of The 8×8 Cookbook and The Ultimate Panini Press Cookbook too!).
This series is jam-packed with simple lemony side dishes that will take any dinner from boring to bright. My favorite recipes are for Greek Lemon Potatoes, Garlic Bread with Lemon, and Lemon Pasta. There’s also a tasty Roasted Lemon Garlic Broccoli, Lemon Rice, and more!
