Scale
- 2 tsp. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried sage
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp. dried thyme
- Pinch cayenne
- Pinch cloves
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 lb. ground beef
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine the brown sugar, sage, salt, pepper, garlic powder, thyme cayenne, and cloves. Stir in the water.
- Add the ground beef and mix with your hands, just until combined being carful not to overmix.
- Spread the beef mixture out on a baking sheet or large plate so that it’s about 1/2 inch thick. Use a round cookie cutter, glass, or jar that is the size you’d like your patties to be (2.5 to 3 inches is typical) to cut meat into circles. Transfer circles to a plate. Gather up remaining meat, spread out, and continue to cut circles until no meat remains.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef sausage patties and cook until well-browned underneath, 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook on the other side until well-browned, another 3-4 minutes.
- Cut into a patty to make sure it’s no longer pink inside. Remove patties from skillet and serve.
