Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 of a lime
  • 1 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 1/2 cups ice cubes, divided
  • 3/4 cup tomato juice
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. horseradish
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. hot sauce
  • 1 rib of celery

Instructions

  1. Cut a slit in the lime quarter and run the slit around the rim of a tall 12 ounce glass (a highball glass) to moisten it with lime juice. Do not discard the lime.
  2. Measure the celery salt onto a plate and invert the glass onto the plate. Rub the lime-wetted rim of the glass in the celery salt.
  3. Measure 1/2 cup of ice cubes into the glass. Set aside.
  4. Put the remaining cup of ice into a cocktail shaker. Squeeze your lime quarter into the shaker. Then add the tomato juice, vodka, lemon juice, horseradish, Worcestershire, and hot sauce. Shake well.
  5. Strain the liquid over the ice in the prepared glass.
  6. Garnish with the celery and serve.
