What Kind Of Cabbage?
I used green cabbage for mine, but you can absolutely use your favorite variety. Red cabbage or napa cabbage would be fantastic!
My 5.5 quart air fryer was able to fit 6 cups of chopped cabbage. This is equivalent to half of a medium green cabbage. You want to remove the cabbage core and then roughly chop the leaves. You can alternatively use one 14-16 ounce bag of shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix if you prefer to skip the chopping.
If your air fryer is smaller, you will want to work in batches to make the full recipe so as to not overcrowd the cabbage. Or, you can cook it for longer, stirring every now and then.
Seasoning Cabbage
This air fryer cabbage recipe has a sweet butter sauce with caraway seeds that is tossed with the cabbage before cooking it.
If you’d prefer though, you can just use the butter or some olive oil and omit the honey and caraway. I would still include the seasoning ingredients though – salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
How Long To Air Fry Cabbage?
I like my cabbage quite tender and so I typically will cook it for a bit longer, about 12 minutes total. It gets darker in spots, but I like the mellow softness. If you like your cabbage to have a bit more texture, then you will likely want to cook it for a bit less, around 8-10 minutes.
